Day 82 – 27th June 2014 leave 8.00am Miles rode 227 Zanjan – Tehran

As it’s getting hotter we decided to set off at 8am for Tehran. We stopped off at Soltaniyeh Dome which is the 3rd largest dome in the world, as we continued to Tehran it got hotter and hotter and when we reach the iconic Azadi Tower it was 40degrees and I was sweating like crazy. I’m told it will only get hotter the further we travel SE in Iran.

After trying to cool down we went to the Golestan Palace which was beautiful and later I left the others and headed to Northern Tehran to visit Eamonn & Sameera. Sameera is the sister of a good friend. It was great to take time away from the city and relax in their beautiful house and garden. Thanks for your great hospitality, maybe we’ll catch up in Islamabad?

Tehran has a population of between 8 – 14 million depending upon where your draw the boarder, other than being bloody hot it feels modern and lively.

Did I mention that Iranian women are stunning, well, they are.20140628-064712-24432361.jpg
